United Way of Tarrant County Names Chief Impact Officer

FORT WORTH, Texas (March 11, 2025) – United Way of Tarrant County (UWTC) today announced Shon Dorsey as its new executive vice president and chief impact officer, effective March 17.
In this role, Dorsey will oversee the organization’s direct service programs, community outreach and financial and non-financial resource allocations. His leadership will be instrumental in advancing UWTC’s impact across Tarrant County in four areas: community health, education and learning, financial stability and community resiliency.

Powell, president and CEO of UWTC. “His experience in driving impactful initiatives will be invaluable as we strengthen our efforts to create meaningful, systemic change for individuals and families across Tarrant County.”
Dorsey brings more than 15 years of experience in nonprofit management, capacity building, program design and community development. Most recently, he served as national director of agency growth at Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, where he spearheaded initiatives to expand the organization’s national reach through new agency development, strategic partnerships and organizational effectiveness. His leadership experience also includes roles with Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County, the YMCA of Greater San Antonio and United Way of Greater Houston.

Dorsey holds a Master of Social Work degree with a focus on leadership and administration and a Bachelor of Arts in communication with an emphasis on public relations, both from the University of Houston. He is also a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
