FORT WORTH, TX. — Demonstrating a commitment to creating brighter futures for vulnerable children, Bank of Texas has donated $10,000 to CASA of Tarrant County, a nonprofit dedicated to advocating for children in foster care.
CASA of Tarrant County was selected through Guide the Giving, an annual program that allows employees to nominate local nonprofit organizations and vote for a recipient in their market.
“Our employees see firsthand which organizations are making a difference in their communities, and Guide the Giving gives them a voice in where we direct our support,” said Bill McCoy, Fort Worth market CEO for Bank of Texas. “CASA has a profound impact on children in this community and we are proud to support an organization that means so much to not just our employees but also to families across Tarrant County.”
John Gerdes, a relationship manager for Bank of Texas, nominated CASA. “This cause is important to me because my wife, Elisa, was a foster kid and her CASA had a significant impact on her,” said Gerdes, who also volunteers his time with CASA at currently serves as board president. “Our mission is to provide the infrastructure for local volunteers to support child victims of abuse and neglect as they navigate the trauma of being removed from their homes. I am so grateful that we won the Guide the Giving vote this year!”
