Forest Hill, TX – To commemorate Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the BarbaraCares Foundation will host the Care2Fight Health & Wellness Festival on Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 10 AM to 1 PM at the Forest Hill Civic & Convention Center (6901 Wichita St, Forest Hill, TX 76140). This free, family-friendly event is open to the public and aims to promote health, wellness, and longevity for residents of DFW and beyond.
BarbaraCares remains committed to fighting breast cancer year-round, with a special emphasis this October on providing onsite free mammograms for uninsured, at-risk women in need of potentially life-saving screenings. Attendees will also have access to a variety of other free onsite screenings, including blood pressure checks, dental exams, glucose testing, HepC and STI screenings, and more.
In addition to health services, the festival will feature free CPR classes, free training sessions, resources, raffles, giveaways, refreshments, and fun surprises for adults and children. BarbaraCares invites the community to “step into the ring” and prioritize health by participating in these valuable services.
The event also serves to highlight BarbaraCares’ mission to save and support lives by providing grassroots health services to underserved and at-risk communities across Texas. Our organizational motto, “Fight, Smile, and Fight Some More!”, encapsulates the spirit of perseverance and resilience we foster in our outreach efforts, as we empower families to thrive.
We encourage media partners, city officials, community leaders, and stakeholders to join us for this important day. Bring your boxing gloves and help us fight for health!
Registration is encouraged for free screenings and can be done via our website at www.barbaracaresforyou.org/healthfair
