Cristo Rey Fort Worth’s First Round Picks Join Tarrant County’s Top Corporate Teams

Tarrant County CEO’s and senior leadership to welcome students to Corporate Work Study
Program at NFL-style Draft Day
The stage is set and preparations have officially started for Cristo Rey Fort Worth’s Draft
Day 2021!
Over 60 corporate partners will join Cristo Rey Fort Worth in celebrating as their
freshman and sophomore class are drafted onto Tarrant County’s Top Corporate Teams
for their 2021-2022 corporate work study program (CWSP) assignments. Cristo Rey
Fort Worth students earn half of their college prep high school tuition by working one
day a week at Tarrant County’s top businesses and organizations including the Amon
Carter Museum, Baird Financial, Baylor Scott & White, Cook Children’s Hospital, Finley
Resources, Fort Construction, General Motors, GM Financial, J Taylor, Kelly Hart &
Hallman, Higginbotham, Hillwood, Meador Auto, Oncor, Pinnacle Bank, TCU, TPG, VLK
Architects, and others*.
This year’s festivities will take place on Wednesday, August 25th at 2:00 p.m. in the Will
Rogers Auditorium, located at 3401 W Lancaster Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76107. Texas
Rangers announcer for Bally Sports John Rhadigan will return to kick-off the event as
master of ceremonies and remarks from Mayor Mattie Parker.
Annette Landeros, President of the Fort Worth Hispanic Chamber will join sports
broadcasters Chuck Cooperstein and Scott Sidway on the color commentary panel as
students find out where they will be working, as well as a special mystery commentator
who was a Dallas Cowboys player, and is a member of both the Cowboys Ring of Honor
and NFL Hall of Fame. Also on hand for the celebration are the Dallas ManiACCs who
will kick-off the festivities of this pro sports style event.
The 38-member Cristo Rey Network of schools is an innovative educational model that
gives students a college prep education while earning work experience in a corporate
setting. Student workers earn their education by fulfilling clerical and administrative
roles in a wide range of departments such as accounting, human resources, finance,
marketing, information technology, legal, records, mail, and office services.
