“Twenty years ago, I never knew raising kids would be so hard.”

What is the favorite part of your job? The interaction I have with all our students, their families, and anyone who walks through the front doors.

What was your favorite TV show as a kid? He-man and the Masters of the Universe, the 80’s morning and after school cartoons were it was at! You could also catch me watching syndicated reruns of the Munsters and Leave it to Beaver!

What is your favorite Netflix or Prime binge? I really enjoyed watching Elementary, which was a play on the Sherlock Holmes character.

Road trip or plane trip? Plane. Have you ever taken a 13 hour road trip with 3 teenagers, and 2 toddlers? Enough said.

What’s your favorite vacation spot? Pensacola Beach, FL. This was our first family vacation experience with our children.

If you could have any car in the world, what would it be? Kia Telluride.

What’s worth paying for? Life itself. Getting time to spend with your family and good friends is priceless.

Drink of choice? A nice cold well balanced Arnold Palmer on a hot Texas day.

What’s your most treasured possession? My wife, children and very first granddaughter, Nova, of course!

What are you afraid of? Disappointing the people in my life.

What causes are important to you? Civility, this world would be a much better place if we could just find a way to get along.

What is your music genre of choice? 80’s to 90’s Slow R&B. Sade is my favorite vocalist, my dad passed it on to me through our many car rides, and I was fortunate enough to be able to share it with my kids. They are also Michael Jackson fans after having to listen to my “old music” playlist.

What excites you most about the future? The unknown. Watching to see how God’s plans for my life unfold.

What are your must haves on a road trip? Snacks and music.

What have you recently done for the first time? Traveled with my family to Cincinnati, Ohio for a “Be the Match” program donation.

What do you collect? Pennies. Something so small can add up to something more, it just takes time.

What is your idea of a fun day off? Just sitting around listening to classic music and enjoying good food with someone special.

What does success look like? For me its growing as a person and being comfortable in your current situation, not everyday will be Christmas. A successful outlook is the best way to get through the struggles life can bring us sometimes.

If you could learn a new skill, what would it be? I would love to learn how to play the piano. Bagatelle No. 25 in A minor, more commonly known as “Für Elise” by Ludwig van Beethoven is my favorite classical piece.

What advice would you give your younger self? Pay attention to your life and those of others, make your choices wisely, even the smallest decisions can have the biggest impact in your life.

What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you? I love all kinds of olives! (any)

What book would you recommend to everyone? The Bible, of course, and for the most obvious reason, the messages of Jesus Christ.

“In 10 years, I hope to be an active member in my community, continuing to help the youth of tomorrow and their lives.”
