NEW FACES APPEAR AT THE FORT WORTH BLACK CHAMBER

New Chair, 10 Board Members, and Membership Services Manager Added

The Fort Worth Metropolitan Black Chamber of Commerce (FWMBCC) has elected 10 new members to its Board of Directors (for a total of 24), and has chosen a new chairperson. In addition, the FWMBCC has just hired a new Membership Services Manager, said President and CEO Michelle Green-Ford.

Sharon Douglas, Owner and CEO of Potere Construction, was elected new board chair. Other new board members are: Onyinye Akujuo, director of grants at JPS Foundation; Scot Bennett, regional director of The Beck Group’s Fort Worth office; Darren James, President of KAI Enterprises; Andre McEwing, Vice Chair, TCCD Diversity Department and Partner with Trojans Commercial Real Estate; Roy Paley Certified Public Accountant; Jeff Postell, President, Post L Group; Ty Stimpson, attorney; Michael Williams, Owner and CEO of 3i Construction; and Monique Winfree, Vice President, JP Morgan Chase.

Other officers which make up the Executive Committee of the Board, are McEwing, vice chairman; Detra Whitmore, secretary; Williams, treasurer; and Stimpson, parliamentarian.

President Ford said the Chamber also just hired Cheryl W. Jones as its Membership Services Manager. Jones, a highly experienced professional, has worked in leadership positions with the City of Fort Worth’s Diversity & Inclusion Department, as well as the city’s Economic Development Department. She also has been an entrepreneur and has extensive experience in the commercial banking industry.

The new board members and staff will be formally introduced to the community and stakeholders at the FWMBCC’s first “State of the Chamber” event to be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, April 29, at the Hyatt Place Fort/TCU on the TCU campus.
